Unfortunately, the KDE4 LiveCD is far from ready and, given the default KDE installation, many users may be tempted to go this way rather than download the DVD.

I have tried the first release candidate, but i was not very impressed. Sure KDE 4.3 in Opensuse looks awesome, but sound is not working proberly on my notebook. i have needed a whole day to get it working. Then i cannot get vpn configured properly in Knetworkmanager. So i think i will try opensue Gnome and sure sound and vpn works in Gnome, but the fonts look very ugly and unprofessionell. So installed MS Fonts on the machine to get good looking fonts, but the result does not fully statisfy me. The icon theme in Gnome looks a bit old too. I really want to use Opensuse, because in work i use SLES for the server and the are really good as a server os and i really like the build service and suse studio is great. But as a os for my homesystem used for managing my photos and music ubuntu is far superior. Everything is working right after the install. Tested with the RC of Karmic. The fonts and artwork looks very good in Gnome. Maybe not so good then in Opensuse KDE 4.3, but definitly better than in Opensue Gnome 2.28. So Please improve the visual design of Opensuse Gnome and i will be a happy Opensuse user in the future.
