Every once in a while when I'm using Firefox, if I type a URL into the location bar, hitting Enter to go to the location does nothing. If I restart Firefox, it works again, but it seems to happen at least once a day.
Anyone else seeing this? This is on Linux (Ubuntu) x86. I've seen the same behavior on OS X, as well.
Hi Zonker,
Matter of fact yes, I've had the same bug surface using Firefox in Windows XP, although not as frequently as once a day. The bug also seems to appear not only when typing a URL in the location bar but also when typing a URL in the search bar too. Problem also goes away when I restart Firefox. Don't really have a clue what may be causing this, but I suspect it may be one of my extensions (add-ons). Haven't had the time to disable each one individually to test it out. Would really appreciate your posting an update to this track if you find out anything new.
Best,

I have the same problem (found your post because of it). For me, it seems to occur only after I've been on an SSL secured page (https). I've found that a new window will fix it, which keeps me from having to restart the entire browser all the time, but it's still highly annoying. I've got a lot of extensions, so I'm sure one of them is conflicting with something in the most recent FF release (2.0.0.5). Good luck finding the culprit.

I can't say that I have, but I usually just use links or google. The bug I most often encounter is flash content crashing firefox.

I haven't exactly had that problem but the bug I've experianced has been that instead of going to the address I type in, I go to google instead.
Yes & I found your site while looking for the cause or work around. It's a really annoying bug!!
I also get this problem, probably 3-4 times a day.
Only addons I have are: del.icio.us bookmarks, downthemall, greasemonkey, and interclue.
