I'm afraid I don't understand the hysteria about Apple's DRM-free tracks sold off of iTunes. So, yeah, Apple should have disclosed right away that user information would be buried in the tracks... but, so what? As long as users aren't throwing the tracks up on P2P networks, what's the problem?
